BEHIND THE MAN
NUNGARY, Robert Shawn Age 38, of West Hollywood, passed away on August 18, 2008 in Hong Kong. Robert was born on February 6, 1970 in Northridge, California to Joseph Nungary Jr. and Ramona Cruz. Robert graduated with a Bachelor in Business Administration from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business in 1992. Upon graduation, he joined RVL Packaging, Inc., a manufacturer of labels based in Westlake Village, California. Robert quickly worked his way up the corporate ladder at RVL, eventually taking the role of Vice President of Operations. In 2002, RVL was acquired by Avery Dennison Corporation and Robert continued in a similar role for three years. In 2006, he and four close friends and long time colleagues from RVL Packaging, Inc. left Avery Dennison and formed Nexgen Packaging, Ltd., a global provider of apparel brand identification and packaging products based in Ventura, California. Robert spent most of his time at Nexgen in Hong Kong, closely overseeing the company's operations and relationships with local vendors and manufacturers. Robert is preceded in death by his father, Joe Nungary Jr.; grandparents; Ricarda Cruz, Joe Nungary Sr, and Eugenia (Gene) Nungary Colin. Robert is survived by his mother, Ramona Nungary; sisters, Rose Marie Morales, Carol Hidalgo, and Viola Nungary; brothers, Joe P. Nungary III, Ric Nungary, and Frank Nungary; along with many dear aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation had been held on Wednesday, September 3, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at the Garcia Mortuary Chapel in Oxnard. The Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Magdalen tehn Conejo Mountain Memorial Park.
